Carl H. Brinkmeier, age 90, of South Rockwood, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 9, 1926 in Monroe County, Michigan, he was the son of Carl and Anna (Woitzel) Brinkmeier.
On May 26, 1945 he married Madeline Campbell in St. John Lutheran Church, Waltz, Michigan.
Carl was a farmer in the local area for 65 years, he also owned and operated Carls Airport on Sigler Road, had his pilot license for 65 years and was a Ham Radio Operator.
He was a lifetime member of the Flat Rock Elks Lodge1731 and the Breast Bay Gun Club. He had a cottage in Rapid River were he loved to spend time camping and hunting.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, Thomas Brinkmeier.
Surviving are his sons, John (Marjorie) Brinkmeier of Newport and James Brinkmeier of S. Rockwood, 5 grandchildren, Paul Brinkmeier, Bonnie Fallon, Jaime Brinkmeier, Jeff Jackson, Michelle Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild and another one on the way.
Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 1:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. James Williams will officiate the service. Burial will be in Ash Cemetery, Ash Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the ProMedica Hospice.
