Hello members Just got this information

I'm pleased to inform you that on Saturday, July 27th, the Central Michigan Amateur Radio Club is sponsoring their 2013 CMARC "OUTDOOR" HAMFEST where we "have everything, but the ROOF"!! It's going to be a day FULL of FUN for Ham Radio, Computer, and Electronic equipment enthusiasts, as well as their families! Once again, this year it's being held at the Holt Christian Church located at 2424 S. Washington Road in Lansing, Michigan from 8am-1pm. Admission is $3.00 per person, with kids 15 years and under getting in FREE!! Admission for Vendors/Sellers is also $3.00 each and that includes 1 sales space (additional sales spaces are $5.00 each). "Dentronics" will be there again this year and remember, Denny is a dealer in NEW Alinco, Diamond, and MFJ equipment! "Stappywear" will be on hand again, too, taking orders for their silk-screened and embroidered Ham-related apparel.

In addition, this year we'll be having VE testing (Walk-ins are Welcome!), a Special Event Station (K8H), a forum on Digital Communications, and an Antenna building demo. We have a lot of great prizes this year, with our Grand Prize being an Alinco DJ-V57T Dual-Band HT!! That prize will be drawn at 1pm and will be mailed, it if you've left already!) We even have some really nice Ladies prizes for all the Ladies that attend! CMARC's Mascot, "TYCHO AUSSIE", will be visiting for all the kids, and this year we will also have FOOD hot-off-the-grill!! There will be Sweet Rolls in the morning and then, later on we'll have Sloppy Joes, Hot Dogs and Brats with all the trimmings!! While you're having fun shopping and ragchewing with your friends, please don't forget to stop by the ARRL table and visit with Larry Camp WB8R, our Michigan Section Manager. Talk-in for the event will be on the 145.39 repeater (100 Hz PL). To register for a CMARC HAMFEST sales spot, or if you have questions, please contact Julie McLain/KB8ZXR at: (517) 694-0812 or KB8ZXR@aol.com.

    New Member Chat Room Feature

We have added a new feature to the website.  A new IRC style chat room that can be accessed any time by MCRC members.  Just enter your call in the 'nick name' field and join the #W8MRM chat room.

This feature is available 24x7.  So when you are down in the shack tuning around on the radio.  Join the chat room as well.  You never know when one of your fellow club members may spot that rare DX and can share it with you in the chat room.

Please tell Kristy that Ron Mesic referred you.

There is no charge for this training.

There is no requirement to join a team or go on "missions" - you may take this training only to be aware of how to better handle disasters / how to be more prepared to look out for yourself, your family and your neighbors.  Joining a team is optional.
