CERT Academy the weekend of April 19, 20, and 21, 2013.

Friday, April 19th, 6pm-9:30pm.

Saturday, April 20th, 9am-4pm.

Sunday, April 21st, 9am-2pm.

Kryzke Senior Center 28255 Mineral Springs, New Boston, MI 48164  

CERT is "Community Emergency Response Team" and this training is basically the same as FEMA's online IS-317 class with the addition of practical elements and a disaster drill at the conclusion.  (You can Google that if you want to see more detail on what this class covers.)

There is no charge for this training.

There is no requirement to join a team or go on "missions" - you may take this training only to be aware of how to better handle disasters / how to be more prepared to look out for yourself, your family and your neighbors.  Joining a team is optional.

We have again been asked to provide communications for the Down River Cycling clubs annual MGST. The ride is on Sunday, May 5, 2013. The ride starts about 7AM and we usually set up around 6:30 am. We meet at Willow Metropark near the pool. Weget a free pancake breakfast which is going to be at Erie Metropark this year. We also get T-shirts. Please volunteer if you can for this event. We've gotten some messages about the Christmas Pot luck and what is already being prepared.  Here is a list of the items members are planning on bringing.

Congratulations to the 2012 Field day teem.  Your hard work and efforts payed off.  In the 2A class MCRC placed 1st in Michigan and 34th nation wide.
