    It is with sadness that we must pass on the news that our friend John - W8MIR has become a silent Key. 

    Visitation Wednesday March 14, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St Frances Cabrini Church 9000 Laurence Avenue, Allen Park, MI 48101.

    ill start taking guesses for when the Alloy Gutter Ice Burg will be no more and celebrate the coming of spring during the Tuesday Night Net, Feb 27 2018

    Feb 13th  just after the storm.



    Feb 20th After them 60 degree days.


    March  12th  Solid block of ice...





    March 20 2018.....  First day of spring... it wont be long now..

    All Amateur Radio Class Instructors:  

    Please plan to get together at 6:30 on Friday 2/9/2018 at the MCRC meeting  to discuss your perception of how the classes are going, how your students are progressing and where we need to take the classes from this point to help our students achieve their greatest success.  

    Some discussion topics:

    • Topic progress vs the original planned schedule
    • Class attendance 
    • Class materials / tools / facilities
    • Communications - Instructors before class
    • Communications - Students between class
    • Other topics?  

    I look forward to a focused and productive discussion with you all.

    It is with great sadness that we announce that Ray, N8TYA has passed away. 

    Right now we don't have any additional details but will keep all the members informed as new information about his passing and any arrangements are available.

    2017 Field day results have been tallied and sent off to the ARRL. Here is just a brief overview of what our report looked like. 

    W8MRM  - Motor City Radio Club #1

    558 phone contacts worth 1,116 pts.
    Bonus points totaling 980 pts.

    Total score of  2,096 pts.

    W8GTZ - Motor City Radio Club #2

    239 phone contacts worth 239 pts.
    34 digital contacts worth  68 pts. 
    Total QSO score  614 pts.

    Bonus points totaling 750 pts.

    Total score of  1,364 pts.

    Great job everyone!!!

    The Brookhaven National Laboratory Amateur Radio Club is hosting a special event to celebrate the Lab's 70th Anniversary. It is also the 100th Anniversary of Camp Upton Army camp, the property on which BNL resides. The BNLARC will operate beginning Sunday, July 16, 2017 and continue through Saturday, July 22, 2017. A Schedule of operating times and frequencies will be listed on our Special QRZ page at www.qrz.com/db/K2BNL. A copy of the special certificate is also viewable on this page. A link will be provided on this page for all contacts to request an email containing the pdf certificate back to you. Give us some time to enter all log entries into the certificate database.

    We are looking forward to working as many clubs as we can. The Laboratory is holding a special Summer Sunday open to the community to kick this off - 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We will be on the air during this time period to start our week-long special event station - K2BNL - Listen for us.
