    Hi Everyone,

Please don't forget that this Sunday at 2:00 A.M. Daylight Savings Time begins.  It will be time to change local clocks but not "UTC".  Please check the ARRL web site for full details.  The only thing that changes is the relationship between local time and UTC.

It will be important to keep this in mind as this weekend is the 2015 ARRL DX Phone Contest!

    73,

    Bill AC8KO

    Hi Everyone,

I am happy to announce that Bill W8KZP, has graciously accepted the position of Nominating Chairperson for this year.  With the fact that many on the board will be changing hats it is critical that we work on the slate of officers earlier than usual.  I know I can count on each of you as active members of our club to help in any way that you can.  It is my hope that when Bill approaches folks to run they will elect to step up to the plate and take a swing!  It has been my honor to serve on the board for four years and as your President for two years but it will be time in November to pass the gavel to someone else at the November Club Dinner.

    Once again:  Thank You Bill!

    73,

    Bill AC8KO

    We have a winner......

    Winning date was 3/27/2015

See last post for the winner

Well its time... the 2015 ice-out will begin with the Tuesday March 3rd session of the MCRC 2 meter net..

Last year we began the challenge with the Ice Burg at the end of my driveway.. This year i have decided to use the pile in the back lot at work.. "Some participants last year were threatening to add salt to the ice burg to speed up the melting" so this burg is in a fenced in lot and under camera surveillance....

Congratulations to Anne K8AE for last years correct date of April 1st, Hopefully i will be able to present her with the 2014 Ice-Out mug at Fridays Meeting.

At your time of check-in give me the date you want and if its not taken you are all set.

This year the pile is just under 6 feet tall and 15 feet front to back and i will limit it to the first 20 feet in front of the semi trailer..

    Good Luck

    John N8KAM

If you are a member of the American Legion don't forget to check out the March magazine issue.  There is a great article in reference to Ham Radio and the American Legion Radio Club.  I am a member of the club and it has some great benefits and a lot of fun.

If you are not a member you can read the article on the American Legion web site.  Just go to the Media tab and look for the magazine link and find the article, "Wave of Popularity".  Enjoy.....

    Hi!
I wanted to share this, Bill, AC8KO and I went last year and thoroughly enjoyed!
I plan on going this year, hope to see you there!
    John, K8DHH

    Dear Fellow Radio Amateur,

Once again, it is that time of year when lots of hams around the world start thinking of the Dayton Hamvention. After all, with 25,000 attendees from all amateur radio interest areas, What’s not to like!

Don’t you wish you were going? You’re not looking forward to that long drive? Don’t drive! Take the Arrow bus! It’s inexpensive and easy.  http://www.w8pgw.org/activities/dayton-bus-trip/

As in years past, The Arrow Communication Association is sponsoring a bus trip from Ann Arbor to Hara Arena and back. The date is Saturday, May 16, 2015. We leave the park-and-ride east of Pioneer High School at 4:30 am and get to the show at 8:00 am. We come back comfortably at 5:30 pm. A continental breakfast is included on board. What more could you ask for?

There is more. If you want to sell your stuff in the flea market, we have reserved a space there just for you! Every year, Arrow reserves a swap spot just for the bus trip crowd. You save $70.00.

The cost is $65.00 for the round trip. Please mail all applications to ARROW Communication Association, 3322 Yellowstone Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. Please note that this does not include the Hamvention admission ticket. That one you’ll have to do yourself!

We at Arrow think that this is the ultimate way to breeze down to the convention and we know you'll love to come with us.

    73,

    John Wasciuk,

    WA8TON / VO1TON
