This is an organized net, we ask that you listen first and follow the instructions for the Net Control Operator.
Please join us at the Wayne County Community College - Downriver campus for our monthly general membership meeting.

All club members are welcome to attend.
Responsibilities of the Fox. The Fox Must:
1. Be an MCRC member, or hide with the MCRC member who gets club license.
2. Use common sense to avoid placing anyone at risk.
3. Locate within a 20 mile radius of the Wyandotte Repeater for day hunts.
4. Locate on public property or in a place accessible to the general public during hunt. Make sure teams are able to arrive at Fox’s Hideout without violating Hunter’s responsibility Rule no. 7.
5. Locate where no admission charge or payment of any kind is necessary in order to access the Fox's Hideout.
6. Get permission from owners of property or local officials.
7. Notify police of your intention to locate Fox's Hideout in their jurisdiction.
8. Transmit on input frequency of the Wyandotte Repeater, 147.840 MHz.
9. Transmit one minute on; one minute off.
10. Monitor the Wyandotte Repeater for emergency or other traffic between transmissions.
11. Determine that transmissions constantly hold the Wyandotte Repeater. The power level and antenna pattern of Fox's signal may be varied as long as they remain uninterrupted on repeater output.
12. See to it that the Fox's signals are transmitted from within the same 100 foot diameter circle.
13. Observe Fox Hunt Time Limits: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
14. Arrange for distribution at starting point of envelopes with maps to Fox's Hideout enclosed.
15. Obtain W8MRM License from MCRC Trustee and the permission to use club call during the hunt.
16. Record arrival time as soon as hunter finds the fox. Record odometer mileage of successful hunters specified location and notes their arrival position. Then send them to a prearranged location, so as to not give away the fox's location.
Pre-registration required. NO WALK-IN's ALLOWED! Limited to 6 people.
All payments are CASH only! Credit cards no longer accepted.
Tests are not timed but must be completed by 12:00PM to comply with facility timing constraints.
Items to bring with you:
All new applicants and upgrades MUST have a valid Email Address and a FCC Registration Number (FRN) in order to obtain their new license. If you are upgrading, you already have an FRN number. That number can be found on your current license.
Please arrive at 10AM Sharp. You will not be able to enter the library until it opens at 10AM.
Register for the session Here:
https://hamstudy.org/sessions/MCRC-VE/all
To obtain an FRN number visit the FCC Universal Licensing System page at: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores. You must first create an account by clicking the "REGISTER" button under "Need a Username?". After you obtain your user name and password, return to that same site and login under "Username Login". Then choose "Register New FRN".
After you take the exam and the papers are submitted , you will receive an email that will contain a link to an FCC page where you need to pay the new $35 application fee that went into effect on April 19, 2022. This fee only applies to new licenses and renewals. Not to upgrades. You will have 10 calendar days, from the date of the application file number being issued, to pay.
After the fee is paid, and the FCC has processed the application, you will receive a second email from the FCC with a link to your official license or, in very rare instances, an explanation for why the application was dismissed or denied. The link will be valid for 30 days.
Upgrades will just receive a link to their official license and the $35 fee will not apply.
More information can be found at: http://www.arrl.org/what-to-bring-to-an-exam-session.
Please arrive at 10:00 am. Testing will begin after paperwork is completed and we should be finished by 12:00pm.
